Odyssey in an Ancient Kingdom
As part of this Odyssey you will have the chance to visit the remains of an ancient kingdom. The famous stone that Theseus left his sandals and sword along with a place of wild beauty, the Devil’s bridge.
The bridge itself has been naturally created by the creek running for millenia in the gorge beneath it or maybe not. A local lore, dating back to Ottoman rule states that the bridge was named like that because the bridge-maker sold his soul to the devil in order to execute the pasha’s orders to construct the crossing. But the bridge-maker was unable to enjoy the riches from having completed the task as the devil soon after claimed his soul and sowed great destruction on his family.
Another local lore derives from the hoof marks on the bridge. These were said to be made by Pan, the flute playing god of the wild whose body was half-goat like that of the satyrs. These hoof marks also resemble the marks of the mythical flying horse Pegasus and that's the reason the locals name the water running below “Ipokrini” (Horse spring of water).
We will start from Galatas and we will drive you to Ancient Troizina where we can visit the sites and explain the history of it and after that we will hike to the Devil’s Bridge. Hiking down from the bridge, we will reach the creek flowing from the mountain, forming fresh water pools that you can swim in and waterfalls surrounded by huge rock formations.
It can be either morning or afternoon activity, let us know in advance what your preference is. The duration will be 2-3hrs depending on how long you wish to stay and explore the area.
This is an excursion you can do by yourself without any cost and we will be happy to give you all the information you need.
Odyssey in the land of Hephaestus
One of the first visitors to write about Methana was the Roman historian and traveler Pausanias, who described the volcanic eruption of 230 BC. This most recent crater is situated beside the village of Kameni Chora (Burned City) The center of the crater can be visited by following the path to Agios
Yannis chapel.
The remains of prehistoric and ancient settlements and sites can be found all over the Peninsula. Near the fishing harbor Vathy, the acropolis of the ancient city of Methana can be visited. The walls and the entrance of the acropolis is still standing, but most of the city’s remains disappeared in the sea after a strong earthquake.
Every year in Methana visitors from all over Greece and foreign countries benefit from the healing and therapeutic mineral spa baths. The mineral springs are known and used since ancient times. The thermal springs are proof that there is still volcanic activity deep under the peninsula. Your volcanic odyssey will start with a 30 min drive from our farm. For the active ones we suggest a hike on top of the volcano (approx 30- 40 min walk from Kameni chora) where you can admire breathtaking views of the Aegean sea and surrounding islands. After the hike we will visit our friend Theodoris at his cafe built from the volcanic stones for a cup of coffee(or something stronger).
We will take you for lunch in Vathy where we will taste fresh fish and seafood in one of the local tavernas. If you prefer we can go for one of many hikes available on Methana or take a drive around the whole of the peninsula to explore this unique, rough yet incredibly picturesque landscape.
The choice is yours.

Hydra's Odyssey
Hydra is one of the most unique islands in Greece. Located only 30min by ferry from Poros, it is the perfect destination for a one day trip. What is so unique about Hydra? Well, probably the fact that cars are replaced by donkeys, or maybe donkeys are never replaced by cars.
Your odyssey to Hydra will start from Poros meeting our friend Vagelis who will be your guide for the day. His knowledge of the island and its history is impressive. You will leave from Poros with the ferry at about 9am and in half an hour you’ll be in Hydra where you will walk through town, find out more about the history, architecture and culture. If you are up for it you can also take a dip in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea. You will take the ferry back to Poros around 3pm. In the meantime you can explore further, have lunch in one of the traditional taverns of the island or go to the famous shopping places in Hydra.
Odyssey in Athens (4-6 hours)
Athens is one of the oldest eponymous cities in the world, having been inhabited continuously for perhaps 5,000 years. It became the leading city of Ancient Greece in the first millennium BC. and its cultural achievements during the 5th century BC. laid the foundations of western civilization.
Let's start (or close) our Odyssey experience with an exploration of the city of the goddess Athena, especially requested by the Odyssey family, exclusively for her friends!
We start from the Acropolis of Athens which is located on a rocky ledge above the city of Athens and contains the ruins of several ancient buildings of great architectural and historical importance, with the most famous being the Parthenon.
We continue passing by the Columns of the Olympian Zeus, an important ancient temple in the center of Athens that was completed during the Roman emperor Hadrian in the 2nd century AD.(some 638 years after the project had begun) and was the largest temple in Greece during the Hellenistic and Roman times and of course the Panathinaikon Stadium, also known as Kallimarmaro where
competitions of the first modern Olympic Games took place in 1896.
Next stop is the bustling Monastiraki with the old (many call it cursed) Tzistaraki Mosque, which was built in 1759 and which today is functioning as an annex of the Museum of Greek Folk Art, and from there to the picturesque Plaka with the alleys that reach the Acropolis rock and the island neighborhood of Anafiotika built by workers and craftsmen from Anafi when they arrived in Athens after the Liberation in order to work as construction workers in the refurbishment of King Othon's Palace and it has remained unchanged over time. Our friends can relax here drinking a traditional
Greek coffee in the shade of the sacred rock.
Last and most enchanting stop of our tour is Lycabettus which , as mentioned in mythology, was a rock carried by the Goddess Athena and fell after bad news brought to her by a crow. At the top is the church of Agios Georgios from where you can enjoy a panoramic view of Athens, through a telescope, or a breathtaking sunset .
The tour does not include a tour guide or tickets to the archeological sites.

Sunset is the best time to visit the temple of Poseidon in Sounio, one of the major monuments of the Golden Age of Athens which is perched on the cape, surrounded on three sides by the Aegean Sea and where Lord Byron inscribed his name into the base of one of the columns.
We say goodbye to this holy city with fresh fish, seafood flavors and ouzo and inscribe in our heart and mind the sun sinking , through the columns of the temple , in the endless deep blue Aegean sea.
